” His Mercies are new every morning ” Scripture Art
This work is cut into Poplar and is stain finished with the exception of the flower at the center and the letters within the wood art. The cut is done in such a way as to give an effect as though it is framed. Yet despite this appearance there is no frame on this wood plank art. The wood panel was cut with the border art being at .1 inches deep. The artwork at the center is cut an additional .1 inches deep giving a total of depth of .2 inches from the surface origin. This kind of cut into the artwork allows for the appearance of a frame surrounding the center wood art.
The Book of Lamentations is a reflection by the Prophet Jeremiah on the sins of Israel and the subsequent consequences which befall them. This specific passage within chapter 3 speaks of how God’s mercies are renewed every morning if we turn to Him. The flower at the center of the work is inspired by other passages and Christian songs pertaining to Christ being the Lilly of the Valley. The work at a natural finish at the center with a provincial finish on the border. The letters were finished with black paint and the flower with white.
